Acknowledgement

The Veterans SA Career & Business Mentoring Program will commence in April 2025.

Mentoring involves developing a relationship with someone who can then share knowledge and/or skills to help guide, enquire and inspire the development of another person.

We know from experience that this development may be very specific, such as helping support and build certain skills (i.e. communication skills or presentation confidence), or it may be to enhance the ability to manage an emerging situation (i.e. prepare for a business event, or to lead a new initiative in the workplace). The intention of mentoring is not to receive ‘free consulting’ expertise.

Likewise, the guidance and advice provided may not necessarily be followed - it is intended as an ‘offer’ to the mentee.

We believe that it is up to the mentee to assess how much or how little they wish to take into consideration, pertinent to their own circumstances.
