Hello from CIWI--A Summer Internship Program.

What is CIWI?

Construction Industry Workforce Initiative (CIWI) is a summer internship program targeted to:
  • BIPOC/First Generation college students (18 to 25 years old +/-)
  • College Students enrolled in two- to four-year colleges
  • Students pursuing degrees in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical), Real Estate Development, Construction, Business Development, Sustainability, Community Development

The CIWI summer internship program includes the following core components:
  1. A three-month internship (June through August 2025, approximately) with some of the Bay Area's largest and most active real estate, design, and construction firms.
  2. Numerous Opportunities to gain a greater understanding of the Bay Area real estate, design, and construction industries.
  3. Make new friends and future business contacts

CIWI Internship Goals.
  • Provides direct Construction/Real Estate/Architecture and Engineering/Sustainability work experience
  • Access and Exposure to Community Development and Civic Engagement ---including Networking, Mentoring, and Leadership Development
  • Interns are provided a greater awareness of the local construction/real estate industries which may ultimately lead to pursuing a career in these industries
CIWI Internship Component.
  • Provides paid construction industry internship positions
  • Approximately 25 hours per week of work for a 12-week period (June thru August)
  • Hourly rate $22 hr.
  • Interns secure up to 280 hours of industry exposure over the summer.
