Interschool Queensland are seeking expressions of interest from people wishing to be part of the management team for the 2024 Interschool Queensland State Team going to the Australian Interschool Championships (AIC) to be held in Tamworth 19 September - 23 September, 2024 (travelling dates to be advised). The AIC is the pinnacle interschool event, hosted this year by Queensland, with teams from all states competing in dressage, jumping, eventing, combined training and show horse.
The management team roles open to EOI’s are Chef d’Equipe and Team Manager/s, as well as discipline leads. An honorarium will be paid to the successful applicants. A blue card is a requirement for these roles (EQ can assist with this if required).

Specific Functions and Responsibilities - Chef d-Equipe & Team Manager
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Checking technical details of information provided by the Organising Committee (OC)
• Coordinating the distribution of relevant information to the team members in a timely manner
• Be the point of contact between team members and the OC before and during the event
• Attendance at technical meetings in the lead up to, and during the AIC
• Manage the team dynamic and be responsible for management of issues relating to the team and individuals
• Report to the Interschool Queensland committee and work with the committee in planning for the competition
• Provide support in the organisation and conducting of the Queensland Team Camp at Burpengary Equestrian Centre 31 August - 1 September 2024.
Skills and Knowledge Required
• Knowledge and understanding of the competition requirements in interschool with previous experience of the AIC
• An ability to provide leadership in team situations
• An ability to handle conflict and manage change
• Ability to ‘think on your feet’
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coordinating the distribution of relevant information to the discipline team members in a timely manner
• Be the point of contact between team members and the Chef d'Equipe before and during the event
• Attendance at discipline meetings in the lead up to, and during the AIC
• Manage the team dynamic and be responsible for management of issues relating to the discipline team and
individuals
• Provide support in the organisation and conducting of the Queensland Team Camp at Burpengary Equestrian Centre 31 August - 1 September 2024.
