Lorie Kane Future Leader Award

Golf Canada created the Lorie Kane Community Spirit Awards in 2022.

The Lorie Kane Future Leader Award will be given to juniors. The awards will celebrate leaders within the community who would otherwise not be recognized by their local, provincial or national halls of fame, and to acknowledge their stories and efforts that otherwise go unnoticed.

The Future Leader Award will be given to juniors (19 years of age and under, who have not celebrated their 20th birthday by August 1, 2024), regardless of golfing skill level, who exhibit:

The qualities of becoming a future leader
Sportsmanship or overcoming adversity
Creating a meaningful impact in their community
Those who use golf as a tool to better their community or raise awareness for other causes

An offer of a paid internship at Golf Canada and a $5,000 future post-secondary scholarship will be given to the winner of the Future Leader Award.
