Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Avtar & Seramount Best Companies for Women in India (BCWI) & the Most Inclusive Companies Index (MICI), studies!
Avtar - a pioneer in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion solutions in India that assists discerning organizations in making their workplaces more inclusive and Seramount, part of EAB, is a strategic professional services firm dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, come together to launch the ninth edition of BCWI in India to recognize and honor companies that are frontrunners in attracting, retaining and developing women talent.
The study has seen eight very successful runs in India in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 going on to list and showcase 100 best companies for women in India in all these years. In 2019, Avtar & Seramount also joined hands to create Corporate India’s first Inclusion Index encompassing the inclusion of gender, generation, sexual orientation, physical capabilities, and culture, called the Most Inclusive Companies Index (MICI). MICI is in its sixth year run in 2024.
2023 BCWI was extremely well received in corporate India with 354 companies participating and 159 companies for MICI Index.
The key feature of the study is that it is entirely an alphabetical listing. Last year’s 2023 Top 10 Best Companies for Women in India (listed alphabetically) are Accenture Solutions Private Limited, Barclays in India, Citibank, EY, IBM INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Infosys Limited, KPMG in India, Publicis Sapient, a division of TLG India Private Limited, Tech Mahindra Limited and ZS.
The Companies that emerged as Champions in 2023 MICI (listed alphabetically) are Accenture Solutions Pvt Ltd, Citibank, EY, IBM India Pvt Ltd, Infosys Limited, KPMG in India, Midland Credit Management India Private Limited, Morgan Stanley Advantage Services, Target Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. and Tech Mahindra Limited.

What is new in BCWI 2024?
BCWI 2024 will have two separate application tracks:
Track 1 – For Companies with employee strength > 500 employees in Indian operations
•Recognitions grow to acknowledge unique industry nuances and spot-light path-breaking work by DEI intentional companies, in an industry-wise manner.
•Best Companies listing in 2024 will have industry categories in winners list – “Best Companies in Consulting”, “Best Companies in IT”, “Best Companies in manufacturing”, “Best Companies in FMCG”, etc. All listings will be alphabetical in nature.
•The trailblazing Top 10 companies across industries, will be honored as a separate alphabetical list.
Track 2 – For companies with employee strength between 100 - 500 employees in Indian operations
• Announcing the “Best Companies - Emerging Icons” track in BCWI. Companies with an employee strength of 100-500 are eligible to apply to this segment.
