Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Form

The Athletic Hall of Fame honors and perpetuates the memory of athletes, teams, friends and staff, who performed and contributed at the highest level of intercollegiate athletic competition while at Salem State University.

Selection is based primarily on athletic accomplishments, integrity, sportsmanship and character.

Individuals other than athletes may be named to the Hall of Fame in recognition of their services and dedication to the Salem State University athletic program.

Consideration will be given to the individual’s overall contribution to the university and the team(s) on which he or she played.

Any former athlete who has competed at the collegiate level will be eligible five (5) years after completing tier athletic eligibility.

Nominations for selection to the Hall of Fame should be in writing using this Hall of Fame nomination form and may be submitted by members of the University community including students, faculty, administration, alumni and friends.

The deadline for our next hall of fame class is October 31, 2026. Our next class will be inducted in spring of 2027.

Nominations must receive a letter of support from a former Salem State teammate, coach, or administrator to be considered by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, if not submitted by such.

Service Award- Given to an individual or team for recognition of their longstanding contribution and service to Salem State Athletics

Alumni Award- Given to a graduate of Salem State University who has proven athletic accomplishments, integrity, sportsmanship and character.

Criteria

Eligibility shall not begin until five (5) years after the athlete or team has finished athletic competition.

An individual nominee for athletic competition must be a graduate of Salem State University.

Criteria for selection shall be based primarily on athletic accomplishment, integrity, sportsmanship and character. Consideration shall be given to the individuals’ and/or team’s total contribution to the team or teams on which he/she played and to Salem State University.

In addition, other individuals (non-athletes) may be inducted in recognition of their contributions and services to the Salem State University athletic program. Eligibility begins upon end of service.
