The AHCA Committees for 2019 - 20 are...

*Arizona Health Care Association PAC: Chaired by AHCA Board member Brett Robertson - this committee will focus on a coordinated effort to educate and support local candidates about our profession through fund raising projects. The Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and provides leadership in strengthening the Association's relationships with legislative candidates who will champion the AHCA cause and purpose. Committee meeting dates are yet to be determined.
 
*Association Budget / Finance: Chaired by AHCA Board member Cindy Leach - this committee meets monthly and is responsible for the preparation and oversight of the Association budget, and financial assets. This committee also addresses non dues revenue and membership development. It is focused on internal AHCA financial issues, not rates or state or federal fiscal policy.
 
* Bylaws: Chaired by AHCA's Past President Sean Mockbee - this committee meets throughout the year as necessary to review and recommend AHCA Bylaws and policies and potential changes.

* Convention and Education: Chaired by AHCA Board member Kelly Bojorquez - this committee meets the first Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and assists in planning AHCA's convention and education program. Speakers are suggested and reviewed, topics and themes are discussed, as well as ideas for additional training and education offered through the Association.

* Public Policy: Chaired by AHCA Board member Heather Friebus - this committee meets the second Friday of each month at 10:30 a.m. to provide public policy oversight and direction for the Association. Members will be actively involved with both state and federal legislation related to assisted living and long term care and will assist in advocacy on both the administrative and legislative levels.

* Quality and Regulatory: Chaired by AHCA Board Member Heather Hudson - this committee meets the second Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and provides leadership in quality assurance and improvement in long term care, as well as regulatory issues, survey trends and CMS information affecting skilled nursing and assisted living.

* Workforce Development: Chaired by AHCA Board member Jim Guschl - this committee will focus on a statewide, coordinated effort to develop, support and implement strategic solutions to address the shortage of allied health professionals and to engage with other leaders in this area on efforts related to the nursing workforce. The Committee provides leadership in strengthening the state's long term care workforce. This committee meets quarterly.
