The Naugatuck Valley Medical Reserve Corps (NVMRC) is a Volunteer organization of the Naugatuck Valley Health District (NVHD).
If you are you interested in emergency preparedness or just want to give back to your community, you can volunteer with the Naugatuck Valley Medical Reserve Corps. We are currently seeking volunteers 18 years and older with both medical and non-medical backgrounds, and we provide free training.
Examples of Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer activities:
- Disaster Response (natural disasters, terrorism events, infectious disease outbreaks)
- Offer administrative or logistical support
- Deliver medical care (within expertise)
- Provide language translation
- Provide education, assistance and support at community health initiatives, recruitment activities and preparedness drills
- Greet and assist residents at emergency dispensing sites or vaccination clinics
- Train with local emergency response partners and other organizations serving the community
- Participate in community Disaster Drills to increase response readiness and capacity
