The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner is a Registered Nurse who has advanced forensic training and education in the field of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Course DATES: April 4,5,11,12, 8 hours of independent coursework and a pelvic simulation on May 5th,is the Clinical Practice Simulation Day- we will be practicing pelvic exams and evidence collection with gynecological teaching assistants at UVM Simulation Lab.
The Vermont Network course provides the 40 hours of didactic training required by the IAFN for the SANE-A examination (see IAFN.org). There is a clinical preceptorship available with the course for pelvic examinations with model patients.
"Vermont SANE Program is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education by the Northeast Multistate Division, an accredited Approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Provider Number: 13-07-002PR; Expiration Date: 9/20/20”
o An agenda, final logistics & information about lunch will be provided as we get closer to the dates
o CEUS will be offered
o Morning refreshments will be provided each day
o The course will run from 8am-5:15 each day
