"I wanted to represent the diversity of VU that was fun-looking and vibrant."
Design B
“At Vic Uni there are a lot of different ages, races, belief systems...etc and i wanted to project that in a way that can be viewed in a non controversial way.
The symbol of the bird is a symbol that is show throughout all cultures as a symbol of hope and moving forward and that's what Vic Uni was to me. It was that platform that taught me the skills to help me move forward in my life and move forward as a forward thinking adult and i think the bird is the perfect
symbolism for that.
The added symbolism of the bird in the centre with the wreath is representational of the teacher who has knowledge, leading the students (birds on the left and right) forward and giving them the knowledge needed to surpass and grow.
As a whole, i wanted to represent Vic Uni as a Learning Ecosystem. Ecosystems are made up of many different characters and many different factors and work together, using their differences to create something whole and something unique. That is Vic Uni to me and that is what this proposal is. “
Design C
"I chose 'reflections' as my theme and wanted to use the Yarra River as a symbol of this. The Yarra runs is almost the spine of Melbourne connecting places and people. It is a dynamic entity below the surface."
