PALO ALTO, Calif. July 6, 2015 – SurveyMonkey, the leading online survey platform, today announced two new members to its board of directors.
Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook, and David Ebersman, chief executive officer of Lyra Health, will join SurveyMonkey’s board, effective today.
“We are thrilled to have Sheryl and David join our board. They are talented business leaders with deep operational and financial expertise who will provide valuable perspective to our management team,” said Zander Lurie, SurveyMonkey’s board chairman. “With their strategic input, SurveyMonkey will be even better positioned to scale our profitable business.”
Over the past five years, SurveyMonkey has experienced tremendous growth as more people look to quickly gather data to make smarter organizational and personal decisions. SurveyMonkey established the online survey category and has worked to leverage the company’s scale to build out complementary services that, like the core survey tool, make data accessible to everyone.
“Ever since Dave joined SurveyMonkey six years ago, I watched him and his team execute on their mission to help people make better decisions,” said Sandberg. “I’m looking forward to working with the board and this amazing team and help to realize Dave’s vision of building a lasting company that will impact the way we all do business for years to come.”
“I have always admired SurveyMonkey for its groundbreaking products and innovative roots as one of the world’s first software-as-a-service platforms,” said Ebersman. “I look forward to helping the board and management team achieve our next stage of growth.”
SurveyMonkey also announced that Zander Lurie, the company’s temporary executive chairman, has been named permanent chairman of the board. Lurie will continue to serve as senior vice president of the GoPro Entertainment Division, a position he has held since November 2014.
