For organizations using SurveyMonkey team plans, effective collaboration is a critical part of creating impactful surveys that yield actionable insights. That’s why we're rolling out an expansion to our suite of collaboration tools over the next several weeks. Thanks to this innovation, all users on our team plans will get access to a powerful new feature that makes it even easier for teams to work together on surveys.
Soon, you'll be able to allow anyone in your organization to review and comment on your survey within the platform—regardless of if they have a SurveyMonkey account or not. Not only can your collaborators comment directly on specific questions, they can also review the logic of the survey in the survey overview. Each review session lasts 10 days and can be renewed at any time, giving you control over who can access your survey. Our new feature for team reviews adds another powerful capability to your collaborative toolkit, joining features like flexible team permissions, shared asset libraries, and multi-survey analysis.

How our open review function improves your workflow
We've heard from many of our users that it was difficult to collect input from stakeholders without a SurveyMonkey account. Having reviewers take a survey multiple times to provide feedback, or to chase down comments scattered across multiple platforms like email threads and Slack channels just isn't efficient.
Which is why we’re excited to simplify access for everyone and streamline your workflow. Anyone with your preview link can provide feedback, making it easier to gather input from stakeholders or external partners.
- Streamlined approval process: Starting a review session simplifies the approval workflow by eliminating the need for reviewers to have SurveyMonkey accounts, providing a clear, organized way to collect stakeholder sign-off, and keeping all feedback within the platform.
- See the complete picture: Reviewers get a comprehensive view of your survey, including the entire survey layout in one view, including all logic paths. This bird's-eye view helps reviewers better understand the flow and structure of your survey, leading to more meaningful feedback.
- Centralized feedback management: No more jumping between platforms to collect and consolidate feedback. Comments are stored directly within the survey platform, where you can view feedback in context with specific questions, track all reviewer comments in one place, and easily act on suggestions.
Getting started
Ready to enhance your team's collaboration? You can share your survey preview by starting a review session and copying the preview link. This allows anyone, with or without an account, to test your survey and post a comment. Only the survey owner can invite people to participate and turn commenting on.
To share your survey preview:
- Go to the design survey section.
- Click the Share icon in the upper-right corner to open a review session page.
- Switch the toggle on to start a session:
- The session ends in 10 days from when you started it.
- You can Restart the session back to 10 days, once the counter is down to 9 days or less.
- Toggle off to close a review session. The share link will no longer be active.
- A new link is generated if you start a new review session. - Click Copy
- Share out the review session link for feedback and comments.
When you share a review session link with someone with a SurveyMonkey account, the survey is shared with them.
This feature is in beta and currently only available to some customers. We’ll be rolling it out to all team plan users this winter.
