Axios|SurveyMonkey poll: media coverage

Axios|SurveyMonkey poll: media coverage

Health care and the environment are tied (30%) as the issue people wish were covered more in the media according to a new Axios|SurveyMonkey poll. These top choices are followed by education (28%), the economy (24%), national security (20%), and local stories (20%). At the other end, very few people want to see more coverage of celebrities and pop culture (four percent), the media (five percent), and sports (five percent).

  • Gen Z stands out for its overwhelming desire for more coverage of the environment, with 38% of those ages 13 to 22 choosing it as one of their top picks for more coverage.
  • Boomers and the Silent/Greatest Generation cite health care about as frequently as Gen Z cites the environment (37% and 39%, respectively).
  • No single issue rises to the top to the same degree among either Millennials or Gen X.
