Accessible Taxis and Private Hire Cars

Definitions

Taxi: Can ply for hire in the street, may be flagged down and use taxi ranks. All Highland Council licensed taxis have a roof sign and a white plate displayed at the rear of the vehicle.

Private Hire Car: Can only be pre-booked and cannot ply for hire in the street, be flagged down or use taxi ranks. All Highland Council licensed private hire cars will have a yellow plate on the rear of the vehicle but are not permitted to display a roof sign.
