Survey for Neighborhood Building Program |
Dear Community Member:
I’m excited to share with you the news that Mayor Barrett and the Common Council have joined the Library Board of Trustees in their efforts to rebuild our branch library system. Built nearly 50 years ago, many of our buildings have outlived their usefulness. Some have been renovated and brought up to date. While others have been or are being replaced with multi-purpose developments that house the library on the first floor including the Villard Square Branch which opened in fall of 2011 and the East Branch library along North Avenue, which is currently under construction. In the next six years, four more branches will be rebuilt using a similar model of “mixed-use” development. These include Forest Home, Mill Road, Capitol, and Martin Luther King. The Tippecanoe branch will also receive a major renovation.
As we begin planning for these projects, our first thought is of you – our patrons, neighbors and supporters. If you’ve ever used the library or if you believe in the mission and value of the library, we are interested in hearing from you. I hope you’ll help us by answering a few questions in the following brief survey. Our goal is to better understand the needs and interests of the community.
