The State of Kansas received a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women to update domestic violence training curricula created under a previous grant project. The Governor’s Advisory Council on Domestic Violence is tasked with updating these curricula and would like your feedback on the response to domestic violence training (orientation, on the job, webinar, national and/or state level training, etc.) you have received in Kansas as it relates to your profession.
Organizations and agencies providing services to domestic violence victims may define domestic violence in different ways. For the purposes of this assessment, “domestic violence” refers to a pattern of abusive and coercive behavior used to gain power and control over an intimate partner or former partner. These behaviors may or may not be criminal offenses.
