Exit this survey School Board Budget Question Title * 1. As you are hopefully aware, the school board has a truth in taxation hearing on August 11 at 6:00 PM in the Kendell building. We are expecting a large turnout from those opposed to the budget for 2011-2012 that the school board adopted which includes a tax increase. Please select from the list below those things you are willing to do (or have already done) before or during the hearing. We will provide talking points to those willing to speak or write letters.Mark all that apply. Attend the hearing on August 11 at 6:00 PM. Wear red to show support for public education to the August 11 hearing. Speak to the board during the hearing about the importance of supporting the neighborhood schools. (Arrive early to sign up to speak.) Bring at least one friend or family member who will wear red in support of public schools. Send a letter to the editor of one or more of the local papers supporting the increase. Contact at least one of the six school board members who supported the budget and the negotiated agreements to thank them for their courageous efforts to support students in the schools. Contact the one board member who opposed the budget and the agreements to express concern and request support for the budget and tax increases. Talk to my neighbors and friends about the importance of adequately funding schools. Send my personal story about the impact of the cuts in my classroom to the DEA as requested earlier in an email.
