The Canadian Crafts Federation / Fédération canadienne des métiers d'art (CCF/FCMA) is the National Arts Service Organization representing the Craft sector on a national and international basis. We work with our membership (the Provincial and Territorial Craft Councils) to ensure that Craft has a national voice.
Many of you do not know that as an individual member of a Provincial or Territorial Craft Council, you are automatically a member of the CCF/FCMA. This means your Craft Council is working for you, representing your interests and needs at the national level. On your behalf, the Craft Councils participate in CCF/FCMA activity. They work together to ensure Craft is represented in advocacy activity with the Federal government regarding Cultural policies and to support arts funding and other related programming. They participate in collaborative meetings and take part in project planning, which often leads to better services and opportunities for you! In general, the CCF/FCMA is a collective of like-minded organizations, working to improve the Craft sector in ways that would be impossible on our own.
As the CCF/FCMA begins to plan our next advocacy strategies, we want to hear from you. What issues matter the most to you, as an individual practitioner? What would you like to see us tackle, or support, to benefit the Craft community at large? What would you like to see us advocate for on your behalf?
Please fill out the following questionnare, and we will review the response prior to our next planning session. Your feedback is essential to help us choose the most effective direction for our advocacy committee!
