You are invited to take part in this research project.
This Plain Language Statement contains detailed information about the research project. Its purpose is to explain to you as openly and clearly as possible all the procedures involved in this project so that you can make a fully informed decision whether you are going to participate.

2. Purpose and Background
The purpose of this project is to further research on the relationship between personality, motivations to drink alcohol and relationships. A total of 200 people may participate in this project.
Previous studies show that certain personality types re more likely to drink alcohol and this is one of the first studies to look at these links in the contexts of relationships.
You are invited to participate in this research project because you will help provide a better understanding of alcohol use behaviour.
The results of this research will be used to help researcher Lisa Everton to obtain a Psychology Honours degree.
