The website contains a questionnaire which asks you about any particular moment or event you may have found helpful during counselling or therapy. Please be assured it is completely anonymous and confidential and you will not be identified. You can withdraw at any time during completion by clicking on 'exit the survey' on the top right.

It is important that you are able to make an informed decision as to whether or not you want to continue participating. Please read the information below.

INFORMATION
Purpose of Study: The aim of this research is find out what clients find helpful in counseling and therapy.

What is required: The focus of the questionnaire is about a particular moment or event you found helpful during counselling. You are not required to identify yourself, your counsellor or therapist. Details are not required regarding what personal circumstances brought you into therapy. Responses that are considered personal or intimate are not required. If you feel you cannot answer a question, please feel free to leave it blank.

Potential Risks/Discomforts: There is a small risk that completion of the questionnaire may raise feelings of discomfort for a small number of respondents. If you would like to contact somebody about any feelings or concerns that the questionnaire has raised, please speak with your counsellor. You can also find details of counselling organisations at the end of the questionnaire.

Potential Benefits: The results of this study will help inform therapists what is helpful for clients.

Payment: Participation is entirely voluntary and so there will be no payment for taking part.

Confidentiality: All responses to this survey are anonymous and confidential. It is therefore impossible to identify individual respondents with their responses. Only the results of the data, and not the data itself, may be published. The resultant data will be stored (confidentially) by the University of Strathclyde for five years following its collection.
