1. My Talking Books - Open Beta Registration Form

This is a registration form for Open Beta of My Talking Books on Smart Speaker. My Talking Books is an Alexa skill for streaming English language audiobooks from NLS BARD. Eligible participants for Open Beta must:

  1. Be an NLS patron with an active BARD account
  2. Have an Amazon account and an Alexa enabled smart speaker device. While we welcome all patrons with Alexa-enabled devices to register, your device may not be on our list of verified Alexa-enabled devices for My Talking Books. These are
    • Amazon Echo (2nd Generation and above)
    • Echo Dot (2nd Generation and above)
    • Echo Show 5 (2nd Generation and above)
    • Echo Flex
    • Alexa Apps on Apple iOS and Google Android (we are aware of a minor VoiceOver issue that has been reported to the Amazon Alexa team)
  3. Have a valid phone number
  4. A signed Parental Acknowledgment Form if under the age of 18. Registration of patrons under the age of 18 will not be processed without a signed My Talking Books – Parental Acknowledgment Form

Due to the limited number of license seats (5000) for Open Beta, patrons who register will be enrolled on a first come, first served basis. Patrons registering for Open Beta after this limit is reached will be placed on a Waitlist for future access.
