Students and young persons between ages 15 and 21 throughout Gunnedah Shire have the chance to experience being Mayor for a day as part of the annual NSW Local Government Week (July 30 – August 5 2018) celebrations.

If you have an interest in local democracy or would like to discover more about the role local government plays in the community, follow the Gunnedah Shire Council Mayor Jamie Chaffey from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday 31 July.

To apply to be Mayor for a day, please complete the application below.

A panel will select a winner and the student will be invited to act as Mayor for a Day, tour Council facilities, receive briefings, meet Councillors and senior staff and assist Mayor Jamie Chaffey in his day-to-day duties.
