Ohio SIBS Regional Sibling Workshop Survey |
Are you a sibling or a family member of a person with a disability? Are you an individual with a disability who may rely on your sibling to support you in the future?
Planning for the future with a person with a disability can be overwhelming, and siblings are often expected to step up without preparation or knowledge of the disability system.
This workshop is designed with siblings in mind to paint a more complete picture of the services and supports a person with a disability may need. It ensures that siblings are informed, included, and empowered in future planning decisions.
What you will get from this workshop:
- Siblings will connect with other sibs that share similar experiences
- Identify what Siblings and ALL family members want for their future
- Learn from experts about resources, advocacy and future planning
- Hear real stories from siblings who have navigated this journey
This workshop will help siblings recognize knowledge gaps in future planning and provide actionable resources to ensure they are actively included. By fostering a supportive community, Ohio SIBS will strengthen siblings’ ability to advocate for their loved ones while addressing their long-term needs.
In partnership with Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, each workshop will also have lunch and a social gathering for siblings after the workshop.
Volunteers from both organizations will help support people who attend the workshop.
