Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), in collaboration with Tennessee Department of Transportation, has launched the Tennessee Sustainable Transportation Awards initiative to recognize leaders in developing, delivering, and advancing sustainable transportation projects or initiatives in Tennessee.
This recognition program will highlight effective and innovative practices to inspire replication in Tennessee and across our region to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fuel consumption, improve air quality, mitigate traffic congestion, promote healthy citizens and vibrant communities, and encourage use of alternate fuels. TDEC, in collaboration with TDOT, is seeking exemplary projects and initiatives that have advanced sustainable transportation in Tennessee over the past five years.
Award recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony during the “Sustainable Transportation Forum” on May 7, in Memphis, Tennessee, coinciding with Clean Air Month.
