Dawson Springs Independent School District- Potential District Mission Statement, Vision and Motto

As many of you know, we have been working on this for several months in response to our KDE audit last year. One of the three priorities from KDE revolved around our District having a "current" Mission and Vision Statement. In addition to a prior survey many of you filled out on this project, I have spoken to and worked directly with many of our student leaders, all of our focus groups...student, certified staff, classified staff, parent, business and community leader, our Admin Team, and many others. After discussions and various revisions, the Mission Statement, Vision and Motto below is what we came up with. All the discussions were very robust and this is hopefully our final attempt to "vet" and finalize our Mission Statement, Vision and Motto. I do believe these "fit us" and focus on current educational goals and objectives. Please review and answer the questions below regarding these proposed statements and motto.

OUR MISSION:
The Mission of the Dawson Springs Independent School District is to educate, equip, and empower every student to be transition ready, college and/or career ready, and life ready.

I like the Mission statement as presented, "it fits us" and I could and would support its focus

I don't like the Mission statement at all

I somewhat like the Mission statement but think some changes/tweaks would be beneficial

I would like the following Mission statement better or would prefer the following changes to the current draft:

OUR VISION:
The Vision of the Dawson Springs Independent School District is that every student and family become lifelong learners and that each grows and flourishes as a responsible, productive and engaged citizen within our complex, ever changing world.

I like the Vision statement as presented, "it fits us" and I could and would support its focus

I don't like the Vision statement as presented at all
