Regional Youth Advisory Committee - Expressions of Interest |
The Regional Youth Advisory Committee (RYAC) works within a collaborative environment to support young people within the Toowoomba Region. Members of the RYAC, you will provide recommendations and advice to Council on:
- the local youth sector
- interests of young people and the sector at a Local (Council and the broader community) State and Federal level
- best practice models in the youth sector throughout the Toowoomba Regional Council area, and wider
- emerging opportunities and issues relative to the trends and needs of young people in the region
- the development and implementation of the Toowoomba Regional Council’s Youth Strategy and subsequent Youth Action Plan
Expressions of interest are now open for Council’s Regional Youth Advisory Committee. We are seeking up to 14 committee members who have professional experience working with young people – in areas such as community development, employment, disability, health, education, child protection, youth justice, police and emergency services.
Successful applicants will commence their role in May 2025 and go through until December 2027. Meetings will convene quarterly on the second Thursday of May, August, November from 9am – 11am. Applications close 5pm on Friday, 24 January 2025.
