City Climate Action, Insights, and Tools Survey

Significant momentum is building that places cities and local governments as important drivers of climate action. However, budgetary constraints, massive demographic shifts, and technological transformation are remaking the fabric of cities, creating uncertainty and placing increasing pressure on municipalities to make better and faster decisions. Implementing comprehensive climate policy to achieve drastic emissions reductions requires cities to be equipped with the right tools and information to help them meet this challenge. The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM), together with Bloomberg Associates and World Resources Institute (WRI), seek to connect cities and local governments to high-impact resources, including user-friendly tools that eliminate barriers to climate-related data collection, planning, implementation, and monitoring.

The following survey will inquire into your climate action process and better understand to what extent data and tools are supporting critical activities. The results of the survey will be used to inform our strategic direction and priorities in the coming years. Please answer this survey from the perspective of your city as a whole. The survey should take no longer than 15-20 minutes to complete.

Privacy Notice: Please note that your personal data will be processed pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The purpose of this processing exercise is to receive the views of local government stakeholders concerned by the specific topic of the survey. In particular, we will process your contact data (name, city, country, position in city government, and email address) based on the legitimate interests of GCoM, as well as your optional consent where it concerns the gathering of your name and email address for follow-up actions. We will also process any personal data that is voluntarily provided by the respondent in the replies to the survey questions. We generally advise data subjects to refrain from including personal data in their replies. The recipients of your data will be GCoM staff, as well as relevant third-party data processors (e.g. SurveyMonkey), and project partners with whom data sharing arrangements have been put in place.
