This draft - renamed as the Code of Ethics for Early Childhood Educators - is an updated version of NAEYC's Code of Ethical Conduct, which was last revised in 2011.
This survey is designed to gather your thoughts, reflections, and feedback on the initial public draft. It was developed with the input of a workgroup appointed by the NAEYC Governing Board under the leadership of the Board's Early Learning Policy and Professional Advancement committee. Members of the workgroup and committee will consider all of the feedback submitted via this survey and other means before revising and releasing a final version of the revised statement in 2025.
Please note that this draft does not include the citations, historical context, and theoretical grounding that will complement the Code in the final version of the position statement. Please focus your feedback on the proposed structure and core content of the introductory sections and the ethical responsibilities outlined in the Code.
Detailed, specific responses are most helpful. Please try to disregard mechanical errors; all copyediting will be done by NAEYC staff before the final version of the statement is published.
Thank you for your time and expertise. This survey will be open until December 15, 2024.
