Flooring Back Stamping Survey

Why are we doing this survey?

Hello!

As part of UKSFA's work to support flooring sustainability and the circular economy, we have a new project around Back Stamping of Flooring.

Future legislation will require detailed and possibly complex Digital Product Passports for construction products as part of the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation, but there are things that can be done now by manufacturers to support end of first life reuse, recycling and waste management.

We want to understand the current situation, and work with manufacturers in a collaborative way to create a very simple standard to avoid potential confusion and duplication. We are also engaging with our partners in the EU and USA - where back stamping demands are very urgent due to impending legislation - to ensure a collaborative approach.

We now want to understand the current landscape and create a baseline - which products are being stamped with an identifier, what is the stamp (printed digits, QR code or digital marker etc ) and what information does it contain. PLEASE NOTE - All information provided will be treated in confidence. UKSFA will create a baseline summary document which will be discussed by the newly formed Back Stamping Working Group.

The survey should not take long to complete and your input is invaluable to help us on this important aspect of flooring sustainability and the circular economy.

If you are a UKSFA member and would like a call back with one of the team regarding this survey or the new Back Stamping Working Group, or if you are a non-member and would like more information on the work of UKSFA membership benefits and how you can get involved, then please email info@uk-sfa.com .

Kind Regards
Cathie Clarke, CEO
