'Your Rent Your Views' 2024/25

Before completing this Rent Consultation document, please ensure you have read the material sent out by Hjaltland Housing Association. You should have received this through the post, or if you have signed up to 'My Tenancy', you should have access to this on your 'My Tenancy' portal.

This consultation will run until Friday 9th February 2024, with a summary report and recommendations being presented to The Association's Management Committee on Thursday 22nd February 2024.
 
Once a final decision on the rent increase has been made, you will be provided with at least four weeks written notice before the new rent levels commence in April 2024.

Question Title

* 1. The Management Committee have considered the options required to both minimise the impact on tenants and at the same time ensure the business receives sufficient income to maintain services.

The decision is therefore to seek tenant’s views on a 6% rent increase, which is the minimum necessary to meet the plans identified in the Business Plan, while keeping the increase as low as possible, and lower than the average proposed by the Association’s peer group.  

The 6% increase equates to an average weekly increase of £6.22 per week.
