Grain Producers SA Paraquat & Diquat Survey 2024

Grain Producers SA is seeking your input on the use of paraquat and diquat herbicides in light of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority's (APVMA) proposed restrictions.

Your feedback is crucial to understanding the implications these proposed changes may have on our industry and in the formulation of a response during the consultation phase.

APVMA’s proposed changes means that:

- Knock-down limited to 820ml/ha paraquat250 (less than the current recommended minimum)

- No optical or shielded spraying

- No crop topping

- No pre-harvest desiccation

- Spray-topping pastures limited to 410ml/ha

This proposed decision includes consideration of all current approved paraquat and diquat active constituents, registered chemical products, and approved labels.
