As we continue to work towards a greener community, we’ve created a brief survey

(4-6 minutes) to get community input specifically as it relates to Single-Use Plastics.

Single-Use Plastics are defined as plastic items used only once before they are thrown away or recycled. These items are things like plastic bags, straws, coffee stirrers, soda and water bottles and most food packaging.
1.How familiar are you about the impact of single-use plastics on the environment?
2.How aware are you of single use plastics in your daily routine? For example: plastic bags, bottles, bottle caps, straws, utensils (either while using them or as litter in town).
3.How important is it to you to be able to use single-use plastics?
4.How likely would you be to choose a more environmentally friendly alternative to single-use plastics if one existed?
5.How often do you avoid using single-use plastics because of their impact to the environment?
6.How often do you take your own reusable bags when going shopping?
7.How important is it to you that the businesses you patronize use environmentally friendly practices?
8.If a business that you frequent stopped providing single-use materials, how likely would you be to stop patronizing the business?
9.With regard to takeout and specialty merchants, how willing are you to pay a green fee for acceptable materials (ie. 10% of pretax sales amount or, a set amount ie. $0.25/container, bag, etc.)?
