Professional Development Revised Training Standards
Your expertise and feedback matter!
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) worked in collaboration with a representative group of stakeholders to identify what characteristics, knowledge, skills, and abilities are most essential for a state-approved trainer. This work led to the development of the revised trainer standards. You can view them here: https://bit.ly/3p8qgI0.
The revised Trainer Standards offer:
A unified concept of what it means to be an effective trainer
Shared language for trainers and policymakers as they talk about trainer preparation and support
Clarity around expectations for individuals in this role
Guidance in the development of professional learning supports
Need for Updated Trainer Standards:
Stay current with advancements in adult learning
Reflect racial equity lens
Provide guidance for virtual learning environments
Improve usability of the original resource
