Why does my survey say it is currently closed?
If clicking on the survey link returns the Survey is Closed message, check the Collector settings.
NOTE: With any subscription (Basic or Pro) you can create as many surveys and collect as many responses as you want. However, with a Basic account you can only view the first 100 responses on each survey. Your surveys will continue collecting responses after 100 responses have been reached. If you want to view all responses past 100, you must upgrade to a Professional subscription.
To Open Collectors:
A. Verify that the link is OPEN.
- From the My Surveys page, click on the [Collect] icon to the right of the survey title. This opens the collector's management page.
- Check the Open/Close box icon to the left of the named collectors. If it is in the closed status, click on the box to open it.
B. If the collector icon is OPEN but the survey is still closed, verify if a Maximum Response Count limit has been met or if a Cutoff Date and Time is active under the [Change Restrictions] button.
Step 1:
Click the [Collect] icon on the My Surveys page.
Step 2:
Click on the [Open/Close] icon.

Open Collector
Closed Collector
Step 3:
If the box is in the OPEN position but the survey is closed to responses, click on the [Change Restrictions] button:
Next, check the following:
- The Maximum Response Count
- The Cutoff Date and Time
Extend the cutoff date or max response count if you want to reopen the survey. The system will treat the survey as closed if either one has been reached. You must click the [Open Collector Now] button after editing these options.

Maximum Response Count!
When using this restriction, any respondent in progress can finish their response. EXAMPLE: If the max limit is 100 and if two people enter as the 99th person and the first person finishes as the 100th, then the second person can still finish because s/he was in progress before the first person clicked the [Done] button. - As long as the cookie is on the machine, s/he can continue with the response.
- No one would be able to open the link and submit a response who has not already begun the survey once the max response count is met.
